According to Worldometer, the world has now (April 8) recorded a total of 88,502 death cases related to COVID-19, with over 1.5 million confirmed cases, and the number is still climbing every day.
Since December 2019, the virus was first emerged in China and soon spread to 192 countries and territories, swooping away almost 90k lives worldwide. And we are still in the race with time on developing the cure for the virus.
As of April 8, Italy recorded the highest death cases, with 17,669 cases. While Spain and the U.S. in 2nd and 3rd place, with 14,792 and 14,788 cases respectively. As reported, the U.S. has 1,940 death cases on April 8.
The U.S. also has the highest number of confirmed COVID-19 cases among other countries, with 434,927 cases. Second, Spain with 148,220 confirmed cases and followed by Italy with 139,422 cases.
In China, things were getting under control. The country has now 81,802 confirmed cases, with 3,333 death cases and 77,279 recovered cases. Also, the 76 days lockdown in Wuhan has been ended recently.
