KUBANG PASU: A man who was driving his car almost crashed when the windscreen of his car broke after several stones fell on it while passing through Kilometer 32.6 of the North-South Highway heading North here yesterday.
The victim, Mohd. Rayyan Iskandar Harraz, 22, from Langkawi said the incident happened when he and three friends were on their way to Perlis in a Perodua Myvi at 12.53pm.
“Suddenly, there were huge rocks falling from the overhead bridge at the scene and at first we thought it might be just some rocks that fell.
"However, when we looked back at the car camera, we found that someone was throwing rocks at my car," he said when contacted here today.
He added that he then reported the incident to the police for further action.
In fact, he said, he understood that some drivers who passed through the area also suffered the same fate.
"I had to replace my windshield that cost more than RM2,000 and repair other parts that were affected by the stone," he said.
Meanwhile, Kubang Pasu District Police Chief, Superintendent Rodzi Abu Hassan said, the police confirmed receiving a report on the incident yesterday.
According to him, the police have conducted an investigation to identify the suspect in the incident because it has elements of treachery.
"The police take this matter seriously and the public who have any information related to the incident are asked to contact the Operations Room, Kubang Pasu District Police Headquarters (IPD) at 04-9176999," he said.
