JOHOR BAHRU: The Johor State Health Department (JKNJ) is conducting an investigation into a video of the elderly who had to wait a long time outside the vaccination center (PPV) in Pekan Nanas, Pontian, to get a booster dose.
Director of JKNJ, Datuk Dr. Aman Rabu said, the matter will be informed to the operator for the purpose of improvement in the future.
"JKNJ will investigate this viral issue and will inform the PPV operator," he said when contacted today.
Earlier, a video was shared on social media of people including senior citizens who had to stand outside the PPV before being allowed to enter.
In the two videos, the elderly were seen tired and had to sit on the shoulder of the road and on the front wall of the residents' houses near the PPV.
It is understood that they were not allowed to enter the PPV hall area because they allegedly came too early and the PPV was not ready.
Meanwhile, Tanjung Piai Member of Parliament, Datuk Seri Wee Jeck Seng said, his party was also aware of the incident and had discussed with the PPV management to identify assistance that could be given to further improve facilities there.
