The hazards involved with hiking should be understood by those who engage in it often. It may be falling and getting hurt, or it might even be getting lost in the forest.
We can only imagine the anguish this family is going through as a result of their son, Muhamad Akmal Hakimi Bin Ishak who has gone missing in Mersing, Johor, on the 1st of February.
Mirza Qusyairi stated that his younger brother, Akmal Hakimi, did not return home after he went hiking the hill alone at Pulau Mawar, Mersing.
Qusyairi claims that his family has filed a police report in response to the incident, and the search and rescue (SAR) operation that was conducted has likewise come to nought.
He also mentioned how the family found his motorbike in Pulau Mawar around 12 noon on 3rd Feb.
The SAR operation, as far as is known, began on 3rd Feb but was suspended on February 7 due to a lack of information.
Furthermore disclosed by Qusyairi was the fact that his younger brother had previously hiked alone so this wasn't something new.
Despite the fact that some believe his brother's plight is bound to a mystical realm, Qusyairi said his family has not given up hope and continues to pray for his brother to come home as soon as possible.
"Although SAR was stopped on 7th Feb, the search continued along with NGOs, villagers, Ustaz and mosque imams."
"There is a mystical, supernatural world. But since my family and I aren't concerned, others are free to speculate all they want. And ultimately, only God knows the truth.
At the same time, Qusyairi posted on the TikTok app about the disappearance of his younger brother and offered a reward of RM50,000 to anyone who could find Akmal.
Akmal was last seen sporting a yellow jacket, grey shoes, and a black backpack with the Jeep logo on the day of his disappearance.
We pray and hope that Akmal comes home to his family real soon.
