A parent from Kulai, Johor, has been using social media to sell his BMW E39 to quickly acquire money for his son's cancer treatment.
Erwan Shah Mohd Asen claimed in a Facebook post that he must give up his cherished, still-in-good-condition vehicle to pay for his son's cancer treatment before it worsens.
"It's a model E39, and the ownership that is registered in my name is adjustable. "RM18,000 is the selling price," he stated in the Facebook post.
According to Harian Metro, The father claimed that his 16-year-old son, Muhammad Adif Zafran was diagnosed with stage one intestine cancer.
Erwan stated that the funds will assist in covering the treatment of his oldest son which approximately costs RM50,000
The 43-year-old technician said that to get money fast, he announced on social media about selling his vehicle.
"I've had the car for almost five years now, but I hardly use it except for long-distance trips," he stated to Harian Metro.
"I bought it for over RM30,000, but now I'm selling the car for RM18,000 because the doctors are asking me to prepare some money for the chemotherapy, which is estimated to go beyond RM50,000," he added.
Erwan revealed that despite getting a lot of interest in private messages, he is still searching for a genuine buyer. He also mentioned that a lot of people have volunteered to give him monetary donations without expecting anything in return, for which he is grateful but highlighted is not the intent of his post on Facebook.
"I didn't want to inquire on the internet, but I wouldn't know if I didn't try. My only option is to sell my vehicle since I still have rent to pay and my family to maintain, and my monthly income is inconsistent," he stated.
Erwan continued, saying that Adif recently suffered a stroke at home and is now admitted to Sultanah Aminah Hospital in Johor Bahru.
