In a heart-wrenching incident driven by a debt dispute, Mohd Ahzan Husni, 35, lost a significant portion of his skull after being brutally assaulted by a group of men. The confrontation took place on July 15th at 5:10 PM in Kampung Setanggi, Johor Bahru, as Mohd Ahzan attempted to reclaim RM300 he had lent to a friend.
On the fateful day, as Mohd Ahzan's family was preparing to leave their house, they were startled by his desperate cries for help. Rushing to his aid, they discovered six men, some masked, viciously attacking him with iron rods and helmets. In their attempt to intervene, the family members were also assaulted by the aggressors.
The aftermath of the attack was devastating. Mohd Ahzan underwent multiple surgeries, including the removal of his fractured skull. Additionally, he suffered from swollen veins in his head and impaired vision in his left eye. Doctors estimate that his recovery period could span from six months to four years, underscoring the severity of his injuries.
Currently, Mohd Ahzan's condition remains critical. He only recognizes his mother and is unable to identify his father or child. Since his separation from his wife over a year ago, he has been the primary caregiver for his child. This tragic turn of events has further strained the family's already difficult situation.
Norhayati A Razak, 53, Mohd Ahzan's mother, shared that the borrowed money was intended to buy milk for his child. Despite her advice against lending the money, Mohd Ahzan placed his trust in his friend. Tragically, when he sought repayment, the situation escalated into a violent attack.
This harrowing incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers that can arise from financial disputes. The family now faces an uncertain future, grappling with the physical, emotional, and financial toll of Mohd Ahzan's injuries. The community's support and solidarity will be crucial in helping them navigate this challenging time.
