In a shocking incident last Sunday, a woman was injured following an attack by her ex-boyfriend, who was armed with a knife, in a supermarket in Bagan Ajam. The altercation, which took place around 8:45 PM, resulted in the victim sustaining an injury to her right pinky finger.

The Seberang Perai Utara District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Anuar Abd Rahman, reported that the suspect, a local man, had been harassing the woman prior to the violent encounter. This harassment escalated into a physical confrontation within the supermarket, prompting the woman to call the police for immediate assistance.

Bystanders who witnessed the incident quickly stepped in to help. Their timely intervention not only assisted the injured woman but also led to the detainment of the suspect. These brave individuals managed to subdue the attacker, ensuring he was held until police arrived at the scene.

Upon arrival, the police took custody of the suspect. The quick response by both the bystanders and law enforcement helped to prevent further harm and ensured the safety of other shoppers.

The injured woman was treated for her injury and is expected to recover. The police are currently investigating the circumstances leading up to the attack, and the suspect is likely to face charges for his actions.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of domestic disputes and the importance of community vigilance. The courage and quick thinking of the bystanders were instrumental in preventing a potentially more serious outcome.
