Several residents at a housing complex known as Pangsapuri Meranti in Cheras are now being faced with legal actions, after a video of them putting live stray cats into sacks had gone viral.
The sickening sight was recorded by a fellow resident from afar, which showed the helpless cats being loaded into a car truck afterwards. It was apparent that the perpetrators were attempting to dump them at an undisclosed location.
Animal rights activist, Shima Aris, took to her Instagram to spread the word on the incident, which generated a wave of anger and disgust by netizens.
Even worse, an individual believed to be a resident there proceeded to threaten Shima via Instagram DM, as an act of retaliation over her posting. She has since lodged a police report.
