A routine military training exercise in Melaka took an unexpected turn when an army paratrooper crash-landed onto a motorcyclist due to a sudden change in wind direction.
The incident occurred during Exercise Eagle Swift Series 1/2025 and involved Corporal Mohd Zahier Zainol Abidin from the Royal Malay Regiments 18th Battalion (18 RAMD Para). As he descended, an unexpected gust of wind pushed him off course, leading to an accidental collision with a passing motorcyclist.
Miraculously, the woman on the motorcycle was unharmed and left the scene before authorities could obtain her details. Meanwhile, Mohd Zahier sustained minor injuries and was taken to the 94th Armed Forces Hospital (94 HAT) at Terendak Camp for a medical check-up.
The incident, now viral on social media, serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of airborne training exercises.
