REMBAU: A man died after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a passing buffalo in an incident at Kilometer 5, Jalan Chengkau Ulu here, last night.
In the incident at about 10.17 pm, the victim, Aiman Norahzan, 20, of Kampung Batu was confirmed dead at the scene.
Rembau District Police Chief, Deputy Superintendent Hazri Mohamad said the victim was riding a Yamaha Lagenda motorcycle on the way from Chengkau Ulu towards Batang Nyamor.
Upon arrival at the scene, the victim collided with a buffalo that was passing by causing the victim to fall on the road at the scene. Independent witnesses were at the scene and saw how the accident happened.
"As a result of the accident, the victim was confirmed dead at the scene due to severe head injuries," he said today.
Hazri said the victim's body was sent to the Forensic Division of Rembau Hospital for an autopsy.
According to him, the case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987 and further investigations are still ongoing.
