Mistakenly filling a gasoline engine with diesel inevitably leads to engine damage.
A woman, while refuelling her Honda HRV at a gas station, was grateful that a station attendant spotted and intervened just in time to prevent it from causing greater losses!
Yesterday, a female netizen shared her experience of accidentally adding diesel to her beloved car on Facebook. She uploaded photos of her Honda HRV parked in a repair shop, with mechanics draining the diesel and cleaning the tank.
According to the netizen, the incident occurred in Klang. Although the female driver knew how to refuel at a gas station, she failed to differentiate between gasoline and diesel, resulting in her adding RM30 worth of diesel to her car.
Luckily, this lady's luck wasn't too bad. She encountered a kind gas station attendant, who approached her to confirm that she had mistakenly added diesel.
She revealed that the attendant advised her to wait for roadside assistance from local mechanics and emphasized the importance of not starting the car engine immediately as it would damage the engine.
"Fortunately, even though it was a Sunday, the repair shop next to the gas station was open. Therefore, the car, with the wrong fuel, could be rectified promptly!"
Finally, she admitted that this incident was a lesson learned. Although it seemed unlucky (adding diesel), she felt fortunate to have encountered a kind stranger. She expressed gratitude for everything that happened that day.
It is understood that the HRV was eventually towed to the nearby repair shop for "rescue". After three hours of tank cleaning, the total cost amounted to RM122.
The lady then returned to the petrol station to find the attendant and thanked him for his help.
