Emerging low-cost airlines in the market allow everyone to afford to travel by flight, no matter is oversea or domestic. Most Malaysians will think of AirAsia when speaking of low-cost airlines. We like to wait for the promotion to grab the free seat flight tickets too. You can easily register yourself as a member account and accumulate points when you purchased AirAsia flight tickets and hotel packages. Besides, members also can accumulate points when you spent at AirAsia partner stores.

AirAsia Airmiles or known as BIG Points is the loyalty programme that the flight company offers their loyal customers in exchange for free flight ticket. For normal people like you and us, we do not travel frequently on the plane, thus the point accumulation process is quite slow. Many BIG Points gone expired before you can redeem for a ticket. Do you know the BIG Points can be used to redeem other items other than free tickets? Let's check out how to redeem!

The redemption is very easy. You have to download the AirAsia Big APP on AppStore or Google Playstore, this enables you to redeem the points at anywhere and anytime.

After finished downloading, you need to open the app and log in to your member account. Go to the mainpage and look for 『BIG Xchange』.

Click into it and choose 『Add New Account』. You may check out the available redemption options, such as Citi Malaysia and PETRONAS Mesra.

We have tried out for PETRONAS Mesra redemption. Just key in the Mesra Card Number and save. After saving, you can see there are two types of loyalty programmes there, one is BIG Point and another one is PETRONAS Mesra. 

To do the redemption, firstly choose 『BIG Points』, then choose for『Mesra Points』. Every 1,250 BIG Points can be exchanged for 600 Mesra Points or equivalent to RM6 Petrol.

We have exchanged for 2,500 BIG Points and immediately checked the PETRONAS App. The redemption process took less than 1 minute, and 1,200 Mesra Points have credited into the account.

Or you can do vice versa through AirAsia Big App. Every 2,000 Mesra Points can be exchanged for 500 BIG Points.
