As a human do you know the following 5 cold things about your body?
#1. A baby has 300 bones at birth. As the baby grows up, some of the bones will fuse together and eventually become 206, and more than half of the bones are in the hands and feet.
#2. The growth rate of fingernails is 4 times that of toenails because fingernails are closer to the heart (aka the blood supply). The nail of the right hand grows faster. The middle finger will grow faster than the other four fingers, while the nail of the thumb grows the slowest among the fingers.
#3. The oral cavity produces about 1-2L of saliva daily. Saliva can help to heal oral wounds, remove bacteria in the mouth, and keep the mouth moist. Saliva starts to break down the food into smaller components when mixed with food.
#4. Human blood accounts for 8% of your body weight. The blood volume is about 4500-5700ML. The brain will not be able to get enough oxygen to sustain life once too much blood (exceeds 2000ML) is lost.
#5. The height of a person differs by 1cm in the morning and at night because gravity compresses our bones and spine. When you lie down in a resting position at night, the spine and bones are less compressed by gravity. When you get up the next day, you will find that you are 1cm taller by measuring your height.
