A viral post about a firefighter who was caught vaping at a restaurant has sparked outrage among netizens. The post, which has been shared on Facebook by a customer named Siti Maisarah, shows the man wearing a t-shirt with the Bomba badge on while taking a puff from his vape pen.
Many netizens were quick to criticize the firefighter's behaviour, calling it "disrespectful" and "embarrassing." Some even went as far as to demand that the authorities take action against him for breaking the rules.
In the post, Siti expressed her frustration, saying, "He wears a government uniform, but he knows that no one will dare to confront him. If we do, what can we do? What actions will the government take? The rules are in place, but enforcement is weak. Even government officials are caught vaping in public, which is shameful and disappointing to see."
The post has since been deleted at the request of the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia in Selangor, who confirmed that action has been taken against the firefighter. However, many netizens are still calling for more to be done to address the issue of smoking in public places.
In response to those who questioned why the post was shared instead of confronting the firefighter directly, she explained that the ban on smoking in public places has been in effect since 2020 and that it is up to individuals to follow the rules.

She also expressed concern for her own safety and the safety of others after a recent viral altercation between a smoker and someone who asked them to stop smoking in a public area.
Siti who shared the post called on the Ministry of Health to take more serious action in enforcing the ban on smoking in public places and urged smokers to respect the rights of others.
