When we dine out, we naturally expect the restaurants we choose to adhere to certain hygiene standards, unlike the recent incident where an employee was observed washing dishes in a garbage bin. 

Unfortunately, similar unsettling cases persist, as evidenced by a recent occurrence at a popular sushi restaurant in Johor. A staff member was caught red-handed digging his ears while preparing food in the kitchen for customers.

Not only was he neglecting to use gloves during the sushi-making process, but he was also engrossed in his phone while handling food. This reprehensible behaviour occurred right in front of the dishes intended for customers, leaving many patrons understandably disgusted. 

Following the video's viral spread on social media, the restaurant issued an apology for the staff member's actions and pledged to conduct a thorough investigation. Despite the apology, some netizens harbour doubts about the restaurant taking effective action, suspecting that they might merely offer discount vouchers.
