"He'll Gives Up Himself," China’s Badminton Coach Gives Negative Remarks About Lee Zii Jia, Sparking Debate Among Netizens

A video recently went viral showing the China team's badminton coach, Sun Jun, commenting on our national player, Lee Zii Jia.

The video was retrieved from a documentary done by CCTV to record the journey of China's team in the Thomas Cup.

When Sun Jun was asked about their strategy for the upcoming game in the Thomas Cup against Malaysian player Lee Zii Jia, he said that Lee would give up the game when his opponent led by a big gap.

He added that Lee has an "average level of determination" and to defeat him, all the opponent needs to do is lead the game; Lee will give up the game himself without any effort from the opponent.

As the game proceeded, Sun Jun's words turned out to be true. Chinese player Shi Yu Qi defeated Lee Zii Jia with scores of 21-19 and 21-5.

However, his comments have sparked a debate among netizens. Some agree with him, saying that although it sounds hurtful, it is the truth.

Others disagree, supporting Lee and highlighting his progress and resilience.

As the Olympic Games approach, we hope that all our national players will put up their best fight and shine on the world stage.
