Not so indah…

Residents of Taman Sri Nibong (Penang) had the shock of their lives following the emergence of a sinkhole on October 16.

According to Pantai Jerejak assemblyman Fahmi Zainol, a leaking Indah Water Konsortium underground pipe had caused the sand to erode, resulting in the disaster.

The news came after a harrowing incident involving a school bus had circulated on social media, which showed one of its tyres getting caught in the sinkhole. Fortunately, no injuries nor casualties were reported.

While the situation is sure to raise a safety alarm for those in the area, Indah Water personnel are currently carrying out maintenance work, which is expected to take up a week.
