Vanilla Chamu, a Japanese model and social media personality, has spent over $2 million USD on more than 100 cosmetic procedures to achieve her dream of looking like a French doll.
Her transformation journey, which began in childhood, continues to captivate audiences worldwide.
Vanilla’s fascination with French dolls started when she was in kindergarten after seeing one at her grandmother’s house.
She found them adorable and soon embraced Lolita fashion, a Japanese subculture inspired by Victorian and Rococo styles.
However, clothing alone wasn’t enough, and by elementary school, she had already decided she wanted to change her face as well as body through surgery.
Despite experiencing childhood insecurities and bullying, Vanilla insists that her transformation was not driven by those experiences.
Instead, she describes her cosmetic journey as a way of returning to her original form.
By the early 2010s, Vanilla had already undergone more than 30 surgeries, spending over $100,000 USD.
In a 2019 interview, she revealed that her total procedures had exceeded 100, and she wasn’t planning to stop.
However, she emphasized that she carefully considers each surgery, working closely with doctors to ensure her safety. For instance, after five nose surgeries, she decided not to pursue more, fearing potential tissue damage.
Now, six years later, Vanilla Chamu continues living her French doll dream. She remains active as a content creator, sharing her modeling photos on Instagram and engaging with her audience through YouTube.
