Plot: Following a major earthquake, scientists predict that Japan will sink into the ocean. Evacuations of the entire country is forced and politicians plead other countries to take refugees while scientists struggle to save Japan itself.

Plot: Based on part of real events happened in 1985 with the icebreaker which was trapped by Antarctic ice and spent 133 days among the ice.

Plot: Following the accidental release of a contagious virus, society started to breakdown. Four survivors struggle to evade those infected by the virus.

Plot: Billed as South Korea's first disaster film, the plot centres around millions of visitors and a geologist, Kim Hwi who visits the Haeundae beach and get caught up in a terrible tsunami.

Release on: July 27, 2006 (South Korean film)
Plot: An unidentified monster from Han River in Seoul carries off a girl and her father attempts to save her.
#7 I am Legend
Release on: December 14, 2007 (American film)
Plot: Based on the novel of the same name published in 1954, the story concerns a virus which was created to cure cancer has wiped out most mankind. Neville was immune to the virus and as the last human in New York, he works to develop a cure.
#8 Vertical Limit
Release on: December 8, 2000 (American film)
Plot: The story centres around a mountain climber who must assemble a rescue team to find his sister who gets trapped in a crevice atop K2.
#9 Snowpiercer
Release on: July 29, 2013 (South Korean + Czech film)
Plot: The story is set in 2031 and the entire world is frozen. Because of a failed attempt to recover the Earths's changing to apocalypse state, the remaining survivors living out their days on Snowpiercer, a luxury train that ploughs through snow and ice and travels around the globe. The poorest resident on the train plan to improve their lot by taking over the engine room.
#10 Deranged
Release on: July 5, 2012 (South Korean film)
Plot: A former professor, Jae-hyuk tries to find a cure after his wife and children infected by a fatal virus that can control the human brain.
