Instagram has officially announced the Instagram Direct Message (DM) functions can be accessed via web browser on 10 April 2020, after the first trial conducted earlier this year. This new feature allows users to send/receive any Instagram DM on desktop, at the same time feature the same functions like emoji, double-tap reaction, send media, etc, just like the mobile version.
These features will be very beneficial to influencers, online sellers or any party that heavily relies on Instagram DM. With this feature, users can easily reply and receive messages via PC. In addition, users can start a new conversation directly by tapping the message icon on someone's profile or click on the new chat icon on the direct message page.

Other functions like send photos & videos, notification, double-tap to react also available on the web version DMs.
How to use it?
1. Go to the web version of Instagram( instagram.com) via PC/ laptop, and click on the DM's icon on the top left.
2. From there you will see something similar to messenger layout, where you can view the previous chats, start a new chat, reply to DMs, send photos and videos, etc.
