The Befrienders Malacca is now offering an emotional support service via Zoom from 9.30 pm to 12 am.
According to the charity group’s publicity director, they usually listen to people pouring out their troubles and provide emotional support via telephone before the movement control order (MCO) period. However, they have now decided to provide the same support service through Zoom as an alternative because of the restrictions due to the MCO.
“Those who need our Zoom befriending service only have to click on the link on our Facebook page The Befrienders Malacca,” she said, adding that they can choose to not show their face by connecting audio only.
The telephone befriending service will still be provided from 6 pm to 9 pm during the MCO period.
