SEREMBAN - A ruthless woman canes her pet puppy allegedly because it bit a shoe at a house in Seremban here recently.
It is understood that the woman's cruel actions were reprimanded several times by the neighbours because the dog often made a loud crying sound and disturbed other neighbours but was ignored.
A 51 second video recorded by a neighbour on November 29 showed the puppy, who could not stand being whipped, trying to escape through a fence but it was then caught and shaken aggressively by the woman.
President of the Malaysian Animal Association (Animal Malaysia), Arie Dwi Andika said, neighbours claimed that the pet owner often hit her two puppies in her house and the video recording is the third incident.
“Many reprimands have been made, but the woman is still stubborn causing the neighbours to make a report to Animal Malaysia and ask for their services so that the dogs are saved.
"This woman is believed to have beaten the puppy until its cries could be heard throughout the housing estate. After several times of giving advice, the neighbours had to record a video of the incident to make a complaint," he said in a statement here today.
Arie said it was understood that the couple also tied the dog to the fence for several days in the rain or scorching heat from November 1 to November 6.
