For shorter girls, the goal is usually to look taller and have your legs look longer than they are. But, how do you actually dress for this? Today, we are going to look at some quick tips to make you go from 158cm to 168cm instantly. So, take some notes and prepare to dress to impress!
Before selecting the outfit, you must remember the "3 laws of outfitting":
- Your pants make up your legs.
- Your dress makes up your size.
- Your waistline makes up everything else.
Choosing the right outfit greatly affects how you look regardless of your physical size. Then we come to tops, which should be around 50-70cm. Shorter tops and bodysuits are also preferred. Unless you're going full-on oversized T style, leave the longer tops at home.
Skirts should be limited to around 30 - 33cm, while dresses go around 76 - 78cm.
If your skirt or dress has a slit on the side, that's a huge plus! Showing off your legs while walking makes you visually taller.
Those who prefer pants will want to keep shorts between 25 - 30cm with longer jeans and pants around 80 - 82cm. Our editor loves cropped pants falling right above the ankles as it visually slims and lengthens your legs, regardless of whether you pair them with shoes or sandals.
With all that said, it's time for some outfitting tips and tricks. Remember:
- Short top, long bottom
- Loose top, tight bottom
- Similar colors
1. Short Top, Long Bottom
What this means is utilizing high-waisted pants or skirts and dresses to give the illusion that your waist is much higher than it is, and a higher waist means...you've guessed it...longer legs! If you are proud of your waist, why not rock a crop top to showcase some of that skin too?
On the other hand, if you're a little shy about that cute tummy, put on normal length tops and tuck them right in!
2. Loose Top, Tight Bottom
A loose top helps cover up any extra meat that you might be too shy to show off. Pair it with some fitting pants or skirt and you'll get that Korean idol look.
3. Similar Colors
This one does not require too much explaining. If you're not good at matching your outfits, we suggest going with 2 to 3 colours as a maximum! If you have multiple pieces of clothing with similar colors, use different shades to visually achieve the best body ratio.
With these tips in mind, looking taller than your height shouldn't be a problem anymore! If any of the products caught your eye, just click onto the photo sources to get them online.
