It takes a special set of skills to be able to create decent monolid eye looks without wanting to scream your head off out of frustration. 

After much digging, we finally found a few, little-known tips and tricks that are quite honestly life-changing. 

1 | Vertical Gradient Is Key

Due to their "flat" surface, monolids can benefit more from a vertical gradient eye makeup look as it does a better job at enhancing natural features as opposed to the horizontal gradient that's often associated with larger eyelid space. 

2 | Two Words: Whispy Lashes

The hack to making your eyes look big, among others, is to choose the right type of lashes and for us monolid gals, we can always count on whispy lashes to do the trick.

3 | Make A 'V' With The Bottom And Outer Eye Corners

Do this method to extend the appearance of eyes which will compliment your monolids well. Remember to blend, blend, blend so there are no harsh lines. 

4 | Cat Eyes All The Way

The sky's the limit when it comes to drawing eyeliners for us asians. You can pretty much experiment with all kinds of styles; colored eyeliners, glitter eyeliners, runaway-inspired eccentric eyeliner looks, what have you... our eyelids can handle it. 

5 | Use Small, Dense Eye Brushes

Smaller eyelids require small brushes. Monolids often need a rather precise application and big fluffy brushes aren't going to cut it sometimes.
