 I mean with so much product residue on it, you bet it's not the most hygienic item on your vanity. So, follow these tips: 

1- Make quick cleans

Bacteria start breeding on your beauty sponges the moment there is leftover product trapped in them. Try to soak your sponges in a little container right after you're done with your makeup. Clean them the moment you're free on the same today. 

2- Give your beauty blender a home

Don't let your sponge sit bare on your vanity. Or, squashed among your other makeup products when you're on the go. Imagine all the dust & lint that gets on an exposed sponge. So, get your sponges their little protective cases. 

3- Clean with soap & water

Ok, don't be too adventurous and try to clean your sponges with bleach, hand sanitizer or Vanish! You're going to reuse the sponge on your face. So, keep it safe and simple. Use a liquid or bar cleanser for the face or body. And that's all!

4- Use a microwave

If you don't mind using your microwave for this, then, go ahead. Add few drops of liquid soap to a cup of water. Wet the sponge under running water & dip it completely in the cup. Let it run in the microwave for a minute. Give the sponge another rinse & dry it. 

5- Replace every 3 months

Honey, you need to learn to let go! As much as you are obsessed with your beauty sponges, get rid of them every 3 months. Or, when even washing them does nothing good.
