Recently, a video of the graves of the popular Malaysian cartoon Upin & Ipin in Indonesia went viral. Conspiracy theorists on social media started sharing their thoughts on how the cartoon was based on two real individuals who are dead.
Some even theorized that Upin & Ipin never grew old in the cartoon because they are actually dead and are merely the imagination of Opah their grandmother.
Here's the video of the graves, the user mentioned that he had gotten the video from a Malaysian friend of his:
After the video went viral, Les Copaque Production Sdn Bhd Managing Director, Hj Burhan Radzi was shocked by the news and said Upin & Ipin are still healthy and Upin & Ipin fans need not worry because Upin Ipin will be back with friends in the new season.
He added that the new season will be more exciting and the standard of animation has improved a lot. Les Copaque also insisted that every character in the Upin & Ipin series is not related to any individual who is still alive or gone.
Besides that, an individual named Limiyadin came forward to tell the real story of the graves. She said that the that share the same names as the local cartoon characters actually have nothing to do with the series.
Limiyadin who claims to be the twins aunt said that the family renamed the graves in the year 2000 after renovating it. They didn't know what name to give and a family member suggested Upin Ipin.
According to her the kids aren't actually twins like the cartoon characters, they are brothers. The brother died when they were very young due to a mysterious sickness. The dates on the graves are the dates of their deaths.
RIP Upin & Ipin.
Unfortunately, what exactly was the mysterious sickness that robbed the life of the two kids was not stated.
Don't worry guys, you and your children can still watch Upin & Ipin, they are still alive and they aren't based on anyone, dead or alive.
