The world was taken aback when New Zealand's Prime Minister declared a full lockdown over ONE new COVID-19 case in Auckland.
On Tuesday, Jacinda Ardern told the press that authorities were assuming the reported case involved the contagious Delta variant. However, it was still too early to be sure of.
Nevertheless, Ardern said 'We've seen the dire consequences of taking too long to act in other countries, not least our neighbors."
New Zealanders will be put under the strictest level lockdown for the next three days from August 17, 11:59 p.m. onwards.
The level four lockdown demands everyone to stay home & businesses to be shut down. Only essential services such as supermarkets & pharmacies will be operating.
Twitter saw many netizens commending Ardern's swift decision-making to nip the issue in the bud.
Meanwhile, in Malaysia...?
