The Aring 8-Kenyir-Kuala Jeneris Road at Tasik Kenyir has been fully closed following a severe landslide caused by recent heavy rainfall. The closure affects a stretch of the road spanning 100 meters and is expected to remain in place for an extended period to allow for necessary repair work.
Hulu Terengganu Police Chief, Deputy Superintendent Zainul Mujahidin Mat Yudin, stated that the severity of the landslide necessitates the complete closure of the road to ensure public safety. "Concrete barriers have been installed to prevent any vehicles from accessing the route," he said.
According to Sinar Harian, this decision was made in response to reports of some drivers attempting to use the road despite clear signage indicating the closure.
Authorities are urging the public to adhere to the closure instructions and use alternative routes while repair works are being carried out. The road condition and updates on the repair process will be closely monitored by the authorities.
