Early this morning, a landslide occurred along Jalan Kampung Raja, a vital access road connecting Simpang Pulai to Cameron Highlands. The incident took place near the Blue Valley junction, causing significant disruption to traffic in both directions.
The Cameron Highlands Civil Defence Force reported receiving an alert about the landslide at 3:15 AM. A team was promptly dispatched to assess the situation and provide necessary assistance. In a Facebook statement, the force confirmed, "The landslide has disrupted traffic in both directions, and clearing operations are currently in progress."
To minimize inconvenience, road users are advised to use alternative routes. Travelers can access Cameron Highlands via the Sungai Koyan route in Lipis or the Tapah road.
According to Utusan Malaysia, the landslide was triggered by continuous heavy rainfall since yesterday afternoon. Fortunately, no damage to residential properties or casualties has been reported.
