French-Indian fashion model Salomé Das recently shared her Ramadan bazaar experience in Sungai Penchala, Segambut, through a lively TikTok video, and netizens are absolutely loving it!

For those unfamiliar with her, Salomé stands out not only for her stunning looks but also for her impressive code-switching skills seamlessly shifting from an English accent to an Indian accent, and even slipping into a Malay accent effortlessly. She's also fluent in French and Bahasa Melayu (with minor mistakes here and there, but still super impressive!).

Keeping It Modest Before Heading Out

Before stepping out for the bazaar, Salomé realized she had forgotten her shawl and didn't want to leave just yet wanting to be dressed modestly (how sopan!).

Once at the bazaar, she made her rounds, chatting with vendors in Bahasa Melayu and even requesting her food to be extra pedas truly embracing the Malaysian way! She and her mother browsed various stalls, striking up friendly conversations and checking out delicious Ramadan treats.

A True Malaysian at Heart

Later in the video, Salomé returns home to review her food haul. In a follow-up clip, she takes things up a notch by trying out different sambals with white rice, dendeng balado, fish with sambal hijau, pucuk manis masak lemak, and cili eggplant. She even ditched the cutlery and ate with her hands, proving just how deep her love for Malaysian culture runs!

Viewers were amazed by her Bahasa Melayu fluency, her choice of lauk, and, of course, her authentic Malaysian-style eating habits.

From Germany to Malaysia Her Journey

Salomé's connection to Malaysia goes beyond food. Born in Munich, Germany, to a French mother and Indian father, she revealed in a TikTok video the struggles her family faced before moving here.

While her mother was pregnant, her father was scammed by a business associate, losing nearly all his savings. Desperate for a fresh start, he found a job in Malaysia, and three months after Salomé was born, the family relocated. They've called Malaysia home ever since.

Aside from being a full-time model, Salomé often reviews Malaysian food on TikTok, from banana leaf rice to hokkien mee.

Now, knowing her background, its no wonder she nailed the Malaysian accent so well!
