Honestly, if you’re reading this because you have had a stressful day, I completely understand. I mean as if work isn’t hard enough, now there’s also the concerns about COVID-19, our finances are at stake and also, we can’t really leave our houses. 

So, how do you get rid of all this stress? Nope, I wasn’t going to recommend drinking your problems away. Gurll, get help. I was going to say have a spa day. 

Here are some at home DIY spa day ideas as a healthy way to get rid of stress. 

1. Spa Music

I know there is nothing better that chilling and listening to your favourite tune, but you know what makes a spa, a spa? The music. 

Hop on Spotify and get some spa music of blast some Enya just to set the mood.

2. Spa Water

Water has always been known to have calming properties but since it’s at home spa day, why just have plain water? Spa it up by adding a variety of fruits like lemon, some ice and some mint leaves. Turn water into spa water.


3. Start off with a scrub

For the smoothest and silkiest skin, you need a good scrub that will clear away dry and dead skin cells, euw. You can take the extreme route and make your own scrubs by clicking on this link if you have the time and the ingredients

If you don’t feel up to it, how about just buying yourself a reasonably priced Watson’s scrub.

4. The perfect face mask

A spa day must include the perfect face mask. You can opt for a sheet mask, a clay mask or even a peel off mask. Whatever floats your boat, honey, we don’t judge.

Personally, I prefer a peel off mask because I love the process of peeling it off, it is so satisfying. 

One recommended face mask brand that has a huge variety to choose from is Freeman. Get the whole collection so that you always have a mask at hand.

5. Don’t forget about your eyes.

Once the facemask is done, get your cucumber slices out and put them on your eyes. Then just lie down and relax. 

Since cucumber has such a high water content, it can moisturize the area under the eyes and treat the puffy and swollen skin under and around your eyes.
