A dispute involving a fried banana seller and a customer took a tragic turn as the vendor lost his life after being fatally beaten with a wooden object by the assailant. The incident reportedly occurred at a market located in Pokok Assam, Taiping recently.
The victim, known as 'Ah Kun,' was involved in an altercation with a customer who allegedly touched the bananas he intended to sell with his hands, according to eyewitnesses. The Sin Chew Daily report also revealed that a scuffle ensued between Ah Kun and the customer before Ah Kun fled to a nearby aisle of the market.
Not content with that, the assailant proceeded to vandalize Ah Kun's fried banana stall before leaving the scene. However, the customer reportedly returned to the scene and struck Ah Kun on the back of his head with a piece of wood before fleeing on a motorcycle.
Unfortunately, the blow proved fatal, and Ah Kun lost his life at the scene. The police managed to apprehend the 49-year-old suspect two hours after the incident occurred, and he has been placed in custody pending further investigation.
