It’s been 9 whole years of The Maze Runner, and what an exciting time it was to be alive!
A dystopian science-fiction series that follows a group of teens who are trapped in a maze and must find a way out, while uncovering the truth about their past, and the world today.
In celebration, let’s look at some unknown facts about the franchise.
#1 The movie hired snake wranglers to make sure areas where they were filming were snake-free. 25 venomous snakes were found—the biggest being a 5 foot rattlesnake.
#2 Thomas Brodie-Sangster put a rock in his sock so that he would remember to limp.
#3 Thomas Brodie-Sangster was the only one who was allowed to keep his British accent for the franchise.
#4 To prep for shooting, the director spent a night in the Glade set.
#5 Dylan O’Brien had 4 days to read the book before filming.
#6 Both the director and producer’s name was written on the Glade name wall.
#7 W.C.K.D or W.I.C.K.E.D. stood for World In Catastrophe, Killzone Experiment Department.
#8 Dylan O’Brien’s character in Teen Wolf was unconscious for most of the episode ‘Lunar Eclipse’ because he was filming The Maze Runner.
#9 Dylan O’Brien’s fav scene to shoot was the fighting scene with Will Poulter.

#11 In the book, there is never suppose to be rain in the Glade.
