A Malaysian Chinese woman, aged 27, has become a victim of public humiliation and distress after ending a year-long relationship with her Bangladeshi boyfriend. The man not only circulated explicit videos and nude photos of the woman on social media but also shared them within her workplace, accusing her of involvement in prostitution.
The incident unfolded when, in May of the previous year, the woman met the Bangladeshi man at a supermarket in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. Their relationship developed over time, and they were romantically involved, with multiple instances of intimacy.
According to the Chief of Community Policing Malaysia, Kuan Chee Heng, also known as "Uncle Kentang," the Bangladeshi boyfriend had recorded their intimate moments on video. On the 15th of this month, the woman decided to end the relationship, prompting a disturbing retaliation.
On the same evening, the woman received notifications from several friends, informing her that explicit photos of her were being circulated on Facebook, accompanied by false accusations of involvement in prostitution. Distraught and embarrassed, she immediately reported the incident to the police.
Ten days later, the woman was informed by her supervisor that her ex-boyfriend had disseminated the intimate videos and nude photos through WhatsApp to her work group. This second wave of humiliation led her to file another complaint with the authorities.
Uncle Kentang expressed his suspicion that the Bangladeshi ex-boyfriend, disgruntled by the breakup, deliberately spread the explicit content to tarnish the woman's reputation.
In light of this distressing incident, Kuan Chee Heng issued a warning to women, advising them to be vigilant during relationships and avoid recording intimate videos with their partners to prevent unnecessary troubles or potential extortion in the future.
