A car tower experienced tense moments when confronted with a pistol while on duty towing a vehicle in Bandar Tun Hussien Onn here on Tuesday.
Kajang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zaid Hassan, stated that the report of the incident was made by a 34-year-old victim around 12:48 pm on Thursday.
"Investigations revealed that during the incident on Tuesday around 10:55 in the morning, the victim along with a colleague was on duty towing a vehicle suspected to have bank arrears owed by a woman.
"During the process, a man then approached and obstructed the victim, claiming that the victim could not produce the bank documents and police reports related to the arrears of payment for the vehicle," he said in a statement on Friday.
He said the suspect also denied that the car his daughter was riding in had any outstanding payments.
"Investigations found that a dispute arose, leading the suspect to draw a pistol from behind his back and brandish the weapon, urging the victim to leave.
"Fearing something bad might happen, the victim left the scene while recording the suspect's actions holding the weapon," he said.
He added that the victim and the suspect then proceeded to make reports regarding the incident at the Kajang Police Station.
