In November last year, it was announced that Malaysia and Singapore will be launching a vaccinated travel lane (VTL) between the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and Changi Airport.
Unfortunately, since then, hundreds of Malaysians who are currently in Singapore and desperate to return home through the initiative have fallen victim to various scams perpetrated by irresponsible parties who resell VTL tickets much higher than the original price.
According to the Chairman of the Malaysian Workers Association in Singapore Johor (Pemas), S. Dayalan, his team has received numerous complaints regarding the incident since more than a month ago. He added that the ticket price, which was originally only 15 SGD, was sold to desperate Malaysians at a price between 100 - 200 SGD!
"However, after paying for the ticket, they would soon find out that the ticket was fake and unverified when the Singapore authorities checked the list of names of travelers allowed on the day.
It's highly immoral to make profits off of eager, homesick individuals who just want to get home, knowing they'd comply out of desperation. Please do check your tickets properly, and do a double check before you purchase anything.
