If you're the type of person to cry when a sad scene comes on in a movie or even just at an advert with a puppy in it, then I suggest you bring a full box of tissues to watch Netflix's latest drama series From Scratch. Honestly, you're gonna need them.
Inspired by the memoir of the same name, From Scratch tells the story of American art student Amahle "Amy" Wheeler (Zoe Saldaña) who is studying in Florence, Italy when she meets Sicilian chef Lino (Eugenio Mastrandrea). The two quickly fall for each other, and the eight episode limited series tells their love story and all its ups and occasional downs.
There's family tension, moving away from home and illness to contend with. It's funny, romantic and full of delicious looking food. Why is smell-o-vision not a thing?
The main source of everyone's tears? Lino is diagnosed with cancer in episode four just as his new restaurant is about to take off, and the subsequent episodes see Amy and Lino's families come together to support the couple.
That being said, the series isn't all doom and gloom. In fact it's full of incredible scenery, heartwarming family moments and the occasional steamy scene. Just be prepared, you will cry throughout it. Now, someone pass me the tissues.
