In a shocking incident early Friday morning, the Ulu Tiram Police Station was attacked by a masked man, resulting in the deaths of two police officers. The attack occurred at 4:41 AM, causing a major disturbance in the area.
Prior to the attack, a police officer at the Seri Alam District Police Headquarters control centre received an emergency call via MERS999 at 2:54 AM. The call, made by a local man, reported that police officers were being assaulted at the Ulu Tiram Police Station.
Following the emergency call, a patrol vehicle (MPV JH896) was dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, they found two officers gravely injured. Constable Ahmad Azza Fahmi Azhar, who had sustained severe machete wounds to the back of his neck and head, was later confirmed dead. Another officer, Constable Muhamad Syafiq Ahmad Said, had been shot in the shoulder and abdomen and also succumbed to his injuries.
Additionally, a corporal was shot by the suspect and is currently in critical condition in the red zone of a local hospital.
The attacker, who was armed with a machete and a firearm, was eventually shot dead by police. Two weapons, a Walther P99 pistol and an HK MP5 submachine gun, were seized from the suspect. The police are continuing their investigation into the motive and background of the assailant.
