After his one-sided romantic advances weren't well-received, A 29-year-old man in Kuala Lumpur decided to “make it even" by setting a woman's car on fire at her residence in Taman Bukit Serdang— and his crime was, unfortunately (for him), caught on CCTV.

The man's deranged action has caused another vehicle parked next to the burning car to be destroyed as well.  Serdang District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner, AA Anbalagan said the incident happened at 5.20 AM and was later noticed by a neighbor who immediately alerted the victim.

"The victim then went downstairs to the apartment to take a look at her car and found the firefighters were already at the scene trying to put out the fire," he explained.  "Based on the interrogation and CCTV footage, the Serdang District Police Headquarters (IPD) Criminal Investigation Division (D7) team has managed to arrest the suspect in Bandar Kinrara on the very same day," Anbalagan said in a statement.

After the interrogation, the suspect admitted being rejected was his sole motive for having set fire to the woman's car. The suspect is currently on remand for five days for further investigation according to Section 435 of the Penal Code.
