Another national football player became an attack victim last night when his car's rear windscreen was smashed by unknown men with a hammer in JB.
Safiq Rahim, a former national football player and captain of Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT), was attacked for the third time in a week, albeit the JDT player's attack appeared to be more of a warning than a physical injury.
According to The Edge Malaysia, two suspects on a motorbike followed Safiq, who was driving a Honda Civic down Jalan Sri Gelam until one of them cracked his vehicle's back windscreen with a hammer.
Safiq filed a police report at the Larkin police station stating that the incident occurred on Tuesday at around 10.05 p.m. as he was traveling in his automobile from JDT's Training Center in Sri Gelam to Pantai Lido.
"I was shocked and stopped my vehicle right away. They both halted in front of my car and pointed the hammer at me, so I quickly put the car in reverse. I filed a police report since the back windscreen was damaged soon after we both departed the location," he stated.
National striker Faisal Halim needed surgery at a private hospital after two attackers sprayed him with acid in a Kota Damansara, Selangor, shopping center last Sunday. Halim sustained fourth-degree burns.
Two unidentified attackers attacked and stole from Muhammad Akhyar Abdul Rashid, a former national player who is currently with Terengganu FC, last Thursday in Kuala Terengganu.
Akhyar's head and torso were injured when he was struck by a blunt object.
