Heading to a local eatery is usually a joyous event. Be it a simple meal or lavish gourmet outing, the thought of digging in to a good plate of food is enough to excite all the senses. However sometimes, that experience can soon turn very sour as one customer recently found out.
On a recent visit to the Kampung Baru eatery, Restoran Sahrul Kambing Bakar & Tomyam, TikTok user @eydilr suffered a horrifying incident as he was in the middle of consuming his dinner.

In the 12 second video posted on the platform, he shares his experience of finding a maggot within his dish. Clearly shocked by the unsanitary condition, this incident lead to further complications as he stated that after eating there, he had suffered food poisoning for the next five days.
"I don't know what to say because this food gave me food poisoning for 5 days"
On top of the surprise ingredient, he also went on the mention that the hygienic practices of the eatery was extremely lackluster, combined with the abysmal service of the staff employed there.
"In terms of slow waiter service, it's ridiculous, the food is not clean. The toilet / kitchen / place to make water is already what it looks like"
Netizens were undoubtably shocked and appalled by this situation and some even commented other stories from the eatery, from the service all the way to the prices they were charging.
With businesses vying for customers these days, cleanliness and food hygiene quality are of utmost importance to getting your customers returning, and hopefully after this incident, the restaurant will clean up their act and hopefully, we may just see it become a popular spot for some good Tom Yam one day.
