7 Malay men were arrested by the Terengganu Religious Affairs Department (JHEAT) for wearing women's clothing in their flat!

According to Kosmo!, JHEAT Enforcement Department Assistant Director Aizi Saidi Abdul Aziz said that enforcement officers raided three units in a HDB flat in Kuala Terengganu at around 12:15 am on July 26, 2024 and found seven men wearing women's clothing.

He pointed out that the seven men arrested were aged between 17 and 54, and were wearing baju kurung and revealing clothing when they were raided.

Aizi Saidi Abdul Aziz said enforcement officers had patrolled the block several times before and found that men often appeared in the corridor area of the block at night wearing women's clothing.

"This situation attracted many men to and from the area, causing distress and discomfort to local residents."

He said the department detained the seven men under Section 33 of the Terengganu Syariah Criminal Code 2001 (men dressing as women). They were brought back to the Kuala Terengganu Religious Department to assist in investigations before being charged in court.

"They were subsequently released after paying bail."
