In a tragic incident in Kampung Senaling, a mentally disabled man allegedly stabbed and killed his father before collapsing on the side of the road on Saturday. The 32-year-old suspect, who is a disability card holder, reportedly had a hallucinatory episode prior to the attack, according to local authorities.

The incident occurred around 4.30 p.m. when the elderly victim, a retired teacher, attempted to console his son. However, the situation escalated as the son reacted aggressively and fatally stabbed his father.

Local shop owner Lee Kien Huei, 40, recounted his encounter with the suspect shortly after the attack. "I learned about the incident from the police and realized that the suspect had come to my shop. I noticed something was off with him, and his mouth was bleeding," Lee told Sinar Harian.

The suspect had initially entered Lees shop looking to buy a folding knife. "I told him to go to another shop, using the excuse that we didn't have any knives available," said Lee. Despite his efforts, the suspect managed to purchase a knife at a nearby shop before suddenly collapsing on the side of the road.

Police officers, who had been alerted to the scene, arrived shortly after. "They found him foaming at the mouth, and after an examination, they confirmed that he had died," Lee added.

Lee revealed that he knew the suspect as the son of the deceased, describing the family as familiar figures in the community. "I knew the father well, he used to come to my shop often. This news has shocked all of us. The son, although mentally ill, never disturbed anyone before and seemed like a normal person," he shared.

In a related statement, a 24-year-old woman known as Aina, a student of the deceased's wife, expressed her grief and described the family as kind-hearted. "They were good people and often helped me. I knew they had a child with mental illness, but this is truly heartbreaking," she said.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and further details are expected as authorities continue their inquiries. The local community is left shaken by the sudden loss of a well-respected teacher and the tragic circumstances surrounding his death.
