Based on a story going viral, an employee returns back the extra salary she received to her employer and earned praises from netizens for her honesty.
According to the WhatsApp screenshot that was shared, she received a total sum of RM9,142.95 in her bank account, so much more than her usual salary of RM1,942.95.
However, instead of silently keeping the cash, she immediately alerted her employer. Touched by honesty, the employer took the story to Threads.
"When you have an honest staff member who immediately calls to inform you about a mistake in the salary transfer. Alhamdulillah, such a big difference when a payment is wrong. Praying that all my team members will have their skills, salaries and commissions increased in 2025. Amin," he wrote, accompanied with the screenshot of the conversation with the staff via WhatsApp.
Based on the screenshot, she told her employer of the mistake and asked him for the bank account details to send the balance of the money back to him.
Many netizens praised the staff for her honesty, and even asked the employer to reward the employee in some way for her honesty.
He then replied the comments, stating that he already rewarded her accordingly.
