According to China Press, on the afternoon of May 21, 2025, JPJ Director Datuk Aedy Fadly visited a driving school in Johor Bahru and pointed out that JPJ has launched a special enhanced driving school enforcement operation (Operasi Khas Institut Memandu, OKIM).

JPJ sent some "undercover" agents to the driving schools to conduct investigations to ensure that the driving schools comply with all relevant licensing and operating regulations and safeguard the rights of students.

He pointed out that there are currently 248 driving schools in the country, of which Johor accounts for 32. However, when officers went to investigate two driving schools, they found a number of violations, including:

1. The instructor did not supervise the students' driving lessons

2. The coach did not teach the students attentively

3. Some students did not study according to the prescribed content

4. Too many students concentrated on learning to drive, resulting in an excess of daily driving quotas

5. Students learn to drive while smoking

6. The driving instructor does not have a driving teaching certificate (SPIM)

7. Failure to abide by the coaching code of ethics

He revealed that JPJ will begin using camera equipment that can record remotely and will also carry out undercover operations to further enhance supervision effectiveness.

He called on the public to report any driving instructors or driving school operators found to have violated regulations through existing channels such as SISPAA so that the authorities can launch an investigation.

In addition, JPJ will continue to improve the supervision of driving school licenses and operations, including improving the application guidelines for newly established driving schools. It will also encourage driving schools in the country to implement automatic driving test systems (e-testing) and KPP01 computerized test centers, and provide special incentives.
