Well, the Tokyo 2020 Olympics never fails to bring us the tea, don’t they? It feels like we’re having tea spilling parties every day!
On today’s agenda, we are going to hear all about a group of rowdy Australian athletes who decided to go a little too crazy in their athlete chambers before leaving.
It all went down during a super lit alcohol-fuelled party at the Olympic Village, members of the Australian men’s rugby and rowing teams probably decided to let off a little steam. Good for them but bad for the people who were supposed to clean up their mess.
After they left, their rooms were covered in vomit, someone punched a hole in the wall, their beds were broken and worst of all two life-sized mascots an emu and a kangaroo were missing.
What happened to these mascots? Were they TAKEN?
Don’t have to go all Liam Neeson on these athletes, the mascots were found. They were missing for several days before they were found in an area where the Germans were staying. Looks like they couldn’t keep up with the craziness happening in the Aussies’ rooms and went looking for some peace and quiet.
Ian Chesterman, head of the Australian Olympic delegation did say that their behaviour was unacceptable and said that the athletes have since apologized for their behaviour.
Apparently, the fun did not stop at the Olympic Village. According to the Herald, members of Australia’s rugby and soccer teams are under investigation after passengers on their plane back to Sydney last week accused them of being loud and obnoxious during the flight, leaving more vomit in a toilet and failing to wear face masks.
Oh Oh, someone’s in trouble! While we completely understand the need to let of a little steam after a stressful event like the Olympics. It is also important to be aware about the other people around you and how your actions could affect them.
Anyway, we wish the Australian team the best of luck in all the endeavours!
