This is not a drill. Netflix's Emily In Paris Season 2 will be coming in hot on December 22nd!
As if Emily Cooper's love life isn't already complicated enough, a new love interest is reportedly coming to Season 2 to further spice things up. That and of course, all the mishaps and misadventures which seem to follow her everywhere she goes— will she finally get better at playing pretend à la french? We'll see.
In honor of the show's success, let's take a look at a few interesting facts about Emily In Paris that you should probably know by now:
1. Lily Collins CAN Actually Speak French
While her character is beyond terrible in French, Lily Collins is somewhat fluent in the language— so much so that she used to dream in it!
2. The Dreamy Lucas Bravo Used To Be A Sous Chef IRL, Too
Remember Emily's gorgeous French downstairs' neighbor, Gabriel? (like you're gonna forget that!) Turns out, the actor who plays his character never had to fake his cooking skills! Lucas Bravo said in an interview that he used to work as a sous chef in a restaurant a few years ago. Talk about flawless casting.
3. Emily Cooper's Apartment Has A Rather Disturbing History
Not so Instagram-worthy now, is it...
4. Lucas Bravo, Ashley Park, And Samuel Arnold Were Roomies During Filming
Actress Ashley Park (who plays the character Mindy) hosted the two actors in her two-bedroom apartment in Paris. Needless to say, priceless friendship was grown. Lucas even broke into the wrong apartment trying to get to their apartment when Ashley forgot their keys! Hilarious.
5. The Show Has Garnered A Lot Of Hate From The French Critics
Some say Emily's cultural ignorance does not necessarily deserve a standing ovation, and the brutal French clichés portrayed in the show only fuels the hatred more. However, actor Lucas Bravo had this to say: "Reality is so rough these days, and we've been going through such a difficult time that I think the show is so light-hearted..." he said. "People needed something to just escape."
Can't wait for season two of Emily in Paris. Je suis tout excité!
