Perhaps inspired by the viral Ourdin meme, halal supermarket retail chain, Mydin has launched the OURDIN fundraising campaign, aiming to crowdfund for Malaysia's flood victims.
For those that don't know, the Ourdin meme came to creation when creative Malaysian Internet users edited the picture of the looted Mydin branch in Sri Muda (seen above), which went viral after the Director of Mydin, Datuk Wira Dr. Ameer Ali Mydin offered his forgiveness towards the looters, thus earning the franchise a well-beloved status among Malaysians.
With the tagline, "Bersama Kita Bersatu", the OURDIN campaign will promote the selling of the official OURDIN t-shirts. 100% of the proceeds in monetary will then be donated to the flood victims in Selangor, Pahang, and Kelantan.
"We feel Mydin can play a role in assisting flood victims, but we cannot do it alone and requires the cooperation of all sides," Datuk Azmeer explained. "Through this campaign, the complete 100% of sales earnings will be directed to the afflicted and needy victims, in addition to demonstrating our sympathy with all Malaysians."
