Based on recent reports, Apple announced yesterday (5 June), of the company's new partnership with Chatgpt creator Open AI. Netizens have been thrilled about the news, but the same can't be said for business mogul, Elon Musk.
At their annual Worldwide Developers Conference yesterday, Apple announced they're teaming up with OpenAI to bring generative AI to their products.
This new Apple Intelligence system will make Siri smarter and offer more personalized tools. Thanks to OpenAI, you'll even be able to ask ChatGPT questions directly from your Apple devices.
Greg Brockman, OpenAI president, said that ChatGPT would be integrated into Apples operating systems for iPhones, iPads and Mac computers.
"Were partnering with Apple to integrate ChatGPT right into iOS, iPadOS, and macOS. Will be available later this year, very excited!" he posted on X.
In response, the Tesla CEO said he would ban Apple devices at his companies which include SpaceX and X, among others if Apple goes ahead with its AI plans announced Monday.
"If Apple integrates OpenAI at the (operating system) level, it would constitute an unacceptable security violation.
"Visitors will have to check their Apple devices at the door, where they will be stored in a Faraday cage (referring to an enclosure that blocks electromagnetic waves crucial to communications, including cellular, wireless internet and Bluetooth signals).
"Apple has no clue what's actually going on once they hand your data over to OpenAI, they're selling you down the river", he said.
