After pickpocketing a restaurant in Kota Meradu, Sabah, police are still on the lookout for the female suspect who committed the crime on July 20th 2024.

CCTV clips have been surfacing on social media since the incident, in the hopes of aiding the investigations as well as encouraging the public to report the perpetrator to the local authorities if found.

The footage shows that the woman, believed to be in her 40's, began distracting her victim, who was looking at the menu of a Secret Recipe restaurant. Reaching into her victims handbag, she began to fish out the victims purse and subsequently leaving the restaurant, all while still making friendly small talk with her target.

Soon after the incident, a person believed to be the victims child, posted on Facebook that someone had stolen their mothers credit card and produced receipts and proofs of payment that had been made by the suspect on the credit card of the victim. According to the post, the card had already been charged with RM900 of purchases at multiple shops as well as another RM1,800 taken out in cash.

District Police Chief Supt Zairolnizal Ishak had stated that a report regarding this case had been made on the night of July 20th and that the investigation was still ongoing at the current time.
